Women of the World (WOW) Festival Highlights Now Available through Global Eagle

March 8, 2021

In celebration of International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month, Global Eagle is collaborating with WOW - Women of the World to give airline passengers streaming access to presentations from its 2020 10th Anniversary WOW Festival.

Global Eagle’s airline customers will now have access to inspirational presentations from:

  • Emma Dabiri, writer, academic and broadcaster. Dabiri discusses her groundbreaking book Don’t Touch My Hair. The memoir travels through both geographical space and time, from pre-colonial Africa to the modern day Western world.
  • Layla Saad, author and social media figure. Her book, Me and White Supremacy, which evolved from a hashtag, was the root of her presentation at last year’s WOW Festival in London.
  • Caroline Criado-Perez feminist author, activist and journalist. Experience the best-selling INVISIBLE WOMAN author’s presentation to a sold-out crowd at last year’s WOW Festival. She subsequently became a 2020 Hän Honour recipient, an award that celebrates equal rights pioneers worldwide.

Global Eagle Senior Vice President Terri Davies says,“Our collaboration with the Women of the World foundation is a critical step towards the continued diversification of inflight entertainment. I am delighted to support the foundation in spreading awareness of WOW Festivals and the important speakers they attract. We look forward to extending our partnership with the WOW Foundation to continue to provide our clients with engaging and empowering content.”

The WOW Foundation was created by Jude Kelly CBE in 2018 to run the global movement that is WOW Festivals. The Festivals were founded by Jude Kelly in the UK in 2010 to celebrate women, girls and non-binary people, taking a frank look at what prevents them from achieving their potential, raising awareness globally of the issues they face, and discussing solutions together.
